Higher Friction, Less Noise

Slippery despite transverse grooves

Klaruw’s bush hammering restored friction to safety level

Not SLIPPERY when wet anymore

According to the Client.

The surface was measured for noise before and after retexturing by a third party, apparently there was a small reduction in noise levels after the retexturing work had been carried out.

Klaruw RMS Ltd. has been issued the ISO 9001 Certificate

WHAT IS ISO 9001?
The most widely recognised standard is ISO 9001, a basic quality management system that can be used in industries of any size, anywhere in the world. Registration to ISO 9001 (or other quality/management standards) provides objective proof that a business has implemented an effective quality management system, and that it satisfies all of the requirements of the applicable standard.

Road Safety Statistics - Great Britain
BBC-Road-Death BBC News - Every death on every road in Great Britain 1999-2010

During the 12 years to 2011, the police recorded more than three million road casualties in Great Britain.

More than 36,000 people lost their lives and another 373,985 were seriously injured.

However, the police figures do not reflect the full scale of death and injury on the roads. Many incidents go unreported.

The best official estimate of the total number of people killed and injured in road collisions each year is a massive 730,000.

While the price paid by the victims and their familes is inestimable, the annual cost to the economy is between £15bn and £32bn.

NEW: OutflowMeter (OFM)
OFM-small

Klaruw launches new testing kit for assessing aqua-planing risk on roads, runways and race tracks

Klaruw has extended its leading range of retexturing technology with the launch of a new, user-friendly hydraulic testing system for evaluating pavement surface macro-texture.

The Klaruw Outflow Meter (OFM) measures the effectiveness of the pavement surface in dissipating water pressure at the tyre interface. In turn, this indicates the potential for aqua-planing in wet conditions.

Portable and fully self-contained, the design works by releasing a measured volume of water into a base sealing ring simulating a tyre footprint. The water is electronically timed as it passes through texture voids in the pavement under the seal. The equipment also provides a visual display of the escaping water.

Klaruw’s OFM offers a number of advantages over the traditional sand patch method (ASTM E965). As well as being quicker and much simpler to use, testing can be carried out when the pavement is wet as well as in strong wind.

Klaruw’s advanced new Outflow Meter
(OFM) provides accurate, self-contained
testing of pavement surface macro-texture.
